Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and CIA Conference ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). By accessing, browsing, or using ciaconference.com (the "Site"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Site immediately.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of materials (information, software, text, graphics, and video) from the Site for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • Modifying or copying the materials
  • Using the materials for any commercial purpose or any public display
  • Attempting to reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile any software on the Site
  • Transferring the materials to another person or "mirroring" on any other server
  • Removing any copyright or proprietary notations
  • Framing or deep-linking to the Site without permission
  • Automated access or scraping (bots, crawlers, scrapers)
  • Circumventing security measures or access controls

3. Event Registration & Participation

3.1 Registration Requirements

To register for CIACON events, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 Ticketing & Payment

  • Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly stated
  • Refund policies are subject to the specific event terms at purchase
  • Early-bird, discounted, or promotional pricing is non-refundable
  • Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of purchase
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the event are non-refundable

3.3 Code of Conduct

All attendees must adhere to our Code of Conduct:

  • Respect all attendees, speakers, and staff regardless of identity or background
  • Do not engage in harassment, discrimination, or hostile behavior
  • Do not record or photograph others without consent
  • Do not violate laws or engage in illegal activities
  • Do not disrupt sessions or the event experience
  • Do not solicit or promote commercial products without permission

Violations may result in immediate removal without refund and potential legal action.

3.4 Health & Safety

Attendees participate at their own risk. CIACON is not responsible for personal injuries, lost items, or damages. We recommend obtaining travel and health insurance.

4. Call for Papers, Speakers & Villages

4.1 Submission Rights

By submitting papers, presentations, or proposals:

  • You warrant that your submission is original and you own all rights
  • You grant CIACON the right to publish abstracts, titles, and speaker information
  • You consent to recordings and photography of your presentation
  • You agree not to submit duplicated or previously published work without disclosure

4.2 Review & Selection

Submissions undergo blind peer review. CIACON reserves the right to accept, reject, or request modifications. Selection is final and not subject to appeal.

4.3 Speaker Responsibilities

Selected speakers agree to:

  • Deliver their presentation as scheduled
  • Adhere to time limits (penalties for overruns)
  • Follow the Code of Conduct
  • Provide accurate speaker bios and headshots
  • Comply with responsible disclosure for security research

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Site Content

All content on the Site (text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, software) is the exclusive property of CIACON or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws.

5.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting, you grant CIACON a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and distribute your submission for event-related purposes.

5.3 Trademarks

"CIACON," "CIA Conference," and related logos are trademarks of CIA Conference. Unauthorized use is prohibited without written consent.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE." CIACON MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
  • Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service

CIACON IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR INACCURACIES IN CONTENT OR FOR THIRD-PARTY CONDUCT.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CIACON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury, property damage, or third-party claims

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR TICKETS OR SERVICES, IF ANY.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CIACON, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of the Site
  • Your violation of laws or third-party rights
  • Content you submit or transmit

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Harass, defame, or discriminate against others
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Engage in phishing, fraud, or deception
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems
  • Interfere with Site functionality or security
  • Spam or engage in unsolicited promotions

CIACON reserves the right to ban users and take legal action for violations.

10. Third-Party Links & Content

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services. CIACON does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for third-party content, accuracy, legality, or practices. Use third-party sites at your own risk.

11. Modification of Terms

CIACON reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Site. Continued use implies acceptance. Significant changes will be announced via email.

12. Termination

CIACON may terminate your access to the Site immediately, without notice or liability, for:

  • Violations of these Terms or applicable laws
  • Code of Conduct violations
  • Harassment or abusive behavior
  • Any reason at our sole discretion

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Delhi, India for any disputes.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CIACON regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
